Day 3: Merzouga Desert to Ouarzazate via Alnif, Nkob and Agdz [370 Km]
Start your day by waking up early to see the beautiful sunrise. After freshening up and having breakfast at the camp, we continue our 4-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour. Our next destination is the Palm Grove of Tafilalet and the town of Rissani, where the Alaouite Dynasty began.
We’ll explore the old capital of the Alaouite Sultans and then head to the village of Alnif. From there, we’ll follow the road through the Jbel Saghro in the Anti-Atlas mountain range. You’ll see unique greyish-black mountains with fascinating shapes as we go to the main Berber villages of Tazzarine and N’kob. Later, we’ll drive into the Draa Valley, known for its rows of majestic palm trees.
In the late afternoon, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate via the Anti-Atlas Mountains, passing through Tizi N’Tniffift. Your overnight stay will be at a Riad or Kasbah in Ouarzazate. This day will take you through a variety of landscapes and cultural experiences.
Day 4: Ouarzazate » High Atlas Mountains » Marrakech [196 km]
On the final day of our 4-days desert tour from Marrakech, our adventure begins with a delectable breakfast before we explore Ouarzazate, often referred to as the Hollywood of Africa and a key gateway to the Sahara desert. Notably, this city boasts the largest studio in all of Africa, the renowned Atlas Studios, as well as the historic Taourirt Kasbah.
